SYMBOL of SWEET  LIBERTY

Have you seen soaring
majestic  eagles  wings aspan  . . .
with golden~eyed acumen
espying  the  land ~

Sharp talons extended
closing in on  the  prey  . . .
no  mercy to be given
each  victim must  obey  ~

Have you heard their sound
not a song  but a  scream . . .
when the target's  a trout
unsuspecting in mountain stream ~

While down~cover'd eaglets
wait impatiently in their nest . . .
mother's beak offers sustenance
she rarely  gets  rest   ~

Are  eagles aware  they're
symbols  of  sweet  Liberty   . . .
in The Home of the Brave
the Land of the Free  ~

From  sea  to  shining  sea
spirit of  courage~strength~pride . . .
for  America  the  Beautiful
may God's mercy  e'er  abide!
